Intro

Here i am, sunday grey afternoon in front of my computer instead of lying down on Em's couch, reading my Ivan E. Coyote book. You understand then, that this sacrifice must be important enough.
I'll tell you what, since i'm going to my therapist, i've stopped doing sacrificies (maybe). Only this decision will be enough to make me get writing a blog called Dont-you-ever-do-sacrificies-no-no-no. Which i'm sure many of you will subscribe to.
But not, it's not that. This is only for fun. And for love and for commitment (which i know sounds like a bad word but it's not). I want to talk about the culture, the art and the politics i love. I want to talk about growing up as a proud weird kid who turned out to be queer (but that was even before i knew the word). Also i want to pay an hommage to the weird kids before and to the weirds kids to come, and to all the people who are fiercely weird, fiercely queers, fiercely organizing. To the people who think being weird is not enough, that it is necessary to build a weird culture and a weird politics and a weird understanding of the world. So the weird organizers and the weird art makers that we are.
Some details about this blog:
1- This is a story-telling and an art-sharing tale from a weird person who always thought that being weird is not enough, that we always should fight to keep on learning and creating.
2- Why is this blog in english? Because i want the largest number of people to understand this blog. As a non-anglophone person living in the only recognized francophone region in north america, québec, i am pretty aware of the political impact of choosing english as the language of this blog. As a non-francophone immigrant in québec, i'm pretty aware of how it feels to be always spoken and speaking in a language that is not yours. My decision to write in english has nothing to do with my anglo or franco friends in northern america, but with the friends and communities in europe with who i've shared so many experiences: english is the common language used in organizing circles in europe, where almost every country has a different language and people are travelling and organizing all over. So go for that. It sucks, but it will certainly suck more or less the same if i was writting in french or spanish (my mother tongue) which happened to be also very colonialist languages.
3- The title of this blog comes from a buttom that my friend Luna Allison gave to me. I never took it personally, i always thought it was the best compliment ever.
